Femtosecond Laser-Assisted LASIK
BoydVision now offers Femtosecond Laser-Assisted LASIK, the safest and most precise form of refractive surgery available. Femto LASIK uses bladeless technology to create the corneal flap resulting in better patient outcomes compared to other laser eye surgery procedures. During traditional LASIK, a microkeratome blade is used to create the corneal flap, which can lead to corneal abrasions and other problems. Our Femto LASIK procedure uses ultrashort infrared pulses, which can be applied precisely and predictably with minimal collateral tissue damage, reducing many laser eye surgery complications.
Femtosecond Laser-Assisted LASIK has been demonstrated to be the safest among refractive surgical Techniques.
Patients worried about having a surgical blade near their eye have less to worry about with the Femto LASIK laser eye surgery. The femtosecond laser gives Dr. Boyd greater control over corneal flap thickness, size, shape, and orientation to better suit each patient’s unique needs. The laser also created corneal edges that allow the flap to fit more securely in place, reducing healing times and decreasing the risk of flap dislocation post-op compared to standard LASIK procedures.
At BoydVision, we work with our patients to guide them through the process of choosing the right operation for their unique needs. During the initial assessment, patients will have the opportunity to speak with Dr. Boyd about their vision correction preferences and the surgical criteria for each option. We then work with them to identify the most suitable laser eye surgery option.
