Seasons Greetings and the Year in Review

With 2015 coming to close we would like to wish you and your loved ones
a wonderful holiday season and a happy and prosperous New Year!

Here are some of the highlights of Boydvision’s activities in the past year.

In February Boydvision was on hand for the 2015 Optofair at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver. As always it was a great opportunity to network with our colleagues, share information, and learn what’s new in eyecare and vision correction. We look forward to continuing to work with our optometrist colleagues, offering treatment, support, and co-management of the patients they entrust to our care in 2016.

Welcoming New Staff and Additional Multilingual Services

We welcomed two new technicians to the Boydvision team. Jan Vu and Andy Xia come to us with great skills and knowledge and importantly, the focus on patient care that we believe is the most important aspect of our work. Jan and Andy also brought additional multi-lingual capability to our office. We can now offer service in Vietnamese and Korean as well as Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Hindi, and of course English!

New Equipment and Ongoing Training

Ensuring we can provide the best possible outcomes for our patients means staying up-to-date with training and equipment. In 2015 Dr. Michael Boyd and our technician Candy C. continued their professional training at the ASCRS (American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery) Annual Congress in Las Vegas with phakic lens surgery training, enhancing the service we already offer to those seeking vision correction through intraocular lenses. We also purchased some new equipment in 2015, including a new IOL Master (learn more here), a YAG laser for correcting posterior capsular opacification, a condition that may occur after cataract surgery (more info), and a new operating microscope.

Improved Cataract Surgery Services

This year we were able to reduce the wait list for standard cataract surgery with extra surgical days at Burnaby General Hospital. We continued to offer a private surgery option for patients seeking treatment as soon as possible, out of town patients requiring urgent surgery, and those who are choosing our premium lens option.

Looking forward to 2016

With the New Year on the horizon, Boydvision remains committed to the best in patient care, ensuring we can deliver the best outcomes to those seeking a surgical solution to their vision correction needs. So, if 2016 is the year you are ready to say goodbye to glasses and enjoy the benefits of LASIK, PRK, intraocular lenses, blended vision, or cataract surgery, be sure to come to Boydvision for a free consultation to learn about your options. You can book your procedure with confidence, knowing that Dr. Boyd will be involved in your treatment from the first visit to the final post-operative follow-up. We believe our success and commitment to patient satisfaction is reflected by our testimonials. Let us show you why Boydvision’s patients have great things to say about their experience.
