Dr. Boyd has performed over 15,000 PRK and LASIK laser eye
surgeries.
Specialist Dr. Michael J. Boyd is an expert surgeon who will
explain the procedures of the preparation, the surgery and the
post-operative care so you feel comfortable and confident with
your choice. Dr. Boyd completed his ophthalmology residency at the University
of Ottawa in 1984, and his American Board of Ophthalmology
qualifications in 1986. He has studied and performed ophthalmic
procedures under several leading ophthalmologists in England,
Saudi Arabia and the United States.
Dr. Boyd is a staff surgeon at Burnaby General Hospital. He is a
member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada,
American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the European Society of
Oculoplastic Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Boyd has performed laser refractive surgery since 1995 as an
independent surgeon, working with many other leading refractive
surgeons. He operates out of his general ophthalmology practice in
Burnaby, where he has an accredited laser eye surgery facility.
